Help with FoW
Ok guys it's been an extremely long time since I played any in the fissure, and I was wondering if anyone knows a build I can use to clear some of the fissure (in NM) with myself (warrior) and 3 heroes. Don't need to clear the whole thing, or spend too much time there. Maybe just be able to beat the first area, the forest, and the beach? Does that sound about right? Anyway, I have factions, proph, and EotN, so only those skills please.
Thanks,
Kel

Almost any team with a decent healing and protecting Monk should be able to clear, or at least kill most of the monsters in the Fissure of Woe.
No idea how a 4-man party would do there, but you could try Sab's 3 Necromancer builds, although you'll stand a better chance by asking a friend or guildie if you can borrow his heroes (he joins your team with his 3 Heroes, and leaves when you arrive in the Fissure of Woe). That'll leave you with 6 Heroes, which should make it much easier to clear.
As Warrior I'd suggest to not take too much defensive skills here. Most enemies don't deal heavy damage, so just a "Watch Yourself!" and Healing Signet or Lion's Comfort should be enough to keep alive assuming you gave your hero Monks good builds.XD

Ok but heroes aren't very good with Protection builds correct? If I was going for a 4 man team, wouldn't 1 monk with a standard WoH build be suitable? Then maybe a Ele with 1-2 supplemental prot spells and a necro or something?

You can do quite a lot in FoW with W/D and a single Monk bonder hero. Check out this thread: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10117195
Start looking for builds on page 4 or so of that thread. You'll need practice, and it helps if you are already familiar with Fissure runs.
edit: Posters in that thread cleared most of the Shadow army(skip the 4 monk group), the Temple of War, spider cave, and Forest of the Wailing Lord. Beach is not worth it, or possibly impossible with this build because of [skill=text]Rend Enchantments[/skill] on the Ancient Skale.
edit: Nevermind. Beach should be pretty easy, too, as long as you avoid the skale, and solo minus your hero bonder like a normal solo Beach/Spider run.

I read through alot of that thread, and that's not really what I'm after. Just want a simple but powerfull 4 man team to do a little FoW.

How about reading through this thread. Sab's build with you going as full damage should do the trick as it's Normal Mode.

You should specific that you want a hero build.
4-man FoW is no problem. The heroes are the problem, since they are stupid, and unless you're playing front-line profession, you'll have hard time managing agro.
But in the end, you either clear FoW, or you don't. There's little reason to do just part of it.

Bunch of the important skills are NF, which I don't have.
Edit: Jagged bones and death pact sig mainly.
Edit: Also don't have 3 necro heroes because of no NF, therefore can't do that anyway.

I am indeed playing a warrior.

I usually do not have 2+ hours to play on a computer game, therefore a good reason to not have a goal of clearing FoW each time, no?

I haven't tried going into FoW on my own with 3 heroes (usually I go with others). However, if I was to go like that and myself as a warrior then I'll probably try taking another warrior and take good damaging skills, hard rez, 'Watch Yourself', and healing sig. Take an Earth Ele with some AoE and a couple of Wards and a healing monk or N/Rt healer. Maybe one or two interrupt skills on the warrior and monk heroes. Focus on bringing down one enemy at a time quickly. It maybe costly (1K per trip), but part of the fun/challenge should be going in there trying various setups and seeing what works and what doesn't.

Kel, I'd like to just recommend an alternative. Since the 10/12/07 update to FoW and UW, there have been a TON of pugs going there to clear all quests. This was awesome for me as I'd never done anything past the forgemaster or smites before. You can usually catch a group whether there is favor or not in Temple of Ages as well due to the access scrolls

I nearly finished the whole thing just then with myself and 6 heroes (I asked my friend to 'borrow' his heroes). I died because I I more of less aggroed everything in sight, the only time I was 'careful' was in burning forest. I eventually fdied because I stupidly aggroed loads of mobs in the Wailing Forest. Really, if I tried it again and used my brains a bit more then I could easily have done it. 7 people is more than enough

Ya I went in the other day with a friend, and we easily rolled the shadow army, beach, forest, and then we were working on the undead but I had to get off.
Meh no more real need for this thread now but thanks for all your help and suggestions guys!
